The show is based on the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay and adapted for television by Emmy Award-winning screenwriter James Manos, Jr., who wrote the pilot episode.

Beyond all the details, its always a good sign of a show when the kill off great characters. That indicates there are no sacred cows and anyone could be offed. Hate to see Lundy go, because Keith Carradine was awesome in this role. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars]

Its so good, the suspense its unbelievable, it keeps you wanting more and more. The only thing i didn't like was the side stories, they were a little weak, but would not give it much importance. Rating: [5 of 5 Stars]

I really like this show as its different then what is normally on the airways. Nowadays everything seems to be a situation comedy, a dumb reality show or a lame drama. With this show, you are forced to juxtapose Dexter the police analyst with Dexter the serial killer, only to find out that there is a fine line that separates a killer with that of a normal human being. You are forced to review your moral principles. One the one hand, you know that what he is doing is wrong, but on the other hand, he is only killing those that are deserving of death and you empathize with him. What a great show! I absolutely love this show. Dexter is one of the best characters on t.v. in the past few years. It's smart, dark and even funny at times. I must admit that I think I even have a little crush on Dexter!! Great show, I'm turning all of my friends on to this! Rating: [5 of 5 Stars]
